Fabric Care Guide | How to Wash & Care for Your YunikuLondon Garments

Each YunikuLondon piece is crafted from carefully selected fabrics. Follow these care instructions to keep your garments looking their best for years to come.

Silk Satin Shirt

  • Hand wash in cool water with a gentle detergent. No machine wash.
  • Never wring or scrub. Gently press water out and roll in a towel.
  • Lay flat to dry away from sunlight and heat.
  • Iron on the lowest setting, on the inside of the fabric only.

Quick tip: Spray perfume before you dress, not after. It protects the fabric.

Silk Shirt

  • Hand wash in cool water. Turn inside out first.
  • No rubbing. Silk fibres are fragile when wet.
  • Hang or lay flat to dry in the shade.
  • Cool iron while slightly damp, on the reverse side.

Stain tip: Blot with cool water straight away, don't rub. For oil stains, sprinkle talcum powder, wait 10 mins, then brush off.

Cotton Silk with Embellishments

  • Dry clean where possible. It's the safest option for this piece.
  • If hand washing, turn inside out and use cool water. Max 2-3 minutes.
  • Lay flat to dry. Never hang while wet as the embellishments add weight.
  • Never iron over beads, sequins, or embroidery. Cool iron the fabric areas only.

Before washing: Check all beads and threads are secure. If anything looks loose, get it repaired first.

Organza with Embellishments

  • Dry clean where possible. It's the safest option for this delicate piece.
  • If hand washing, turn inside out and use cold water with mild detergent for max 2-3 minutes.
  • Lay flat or hang carefully to air dry. Never tumble dry or wring the fabric.
  • Cool iron or steam on reverse only. Never iron directly over embellishments.

Handloom Garments

  • Dry clean where possible. Handloom fabrics deserve gentle care.
  • If hand washing, use cold water and mild detergent for a quick gentle wash.
  • Air dry naturally away from direct sunlight. Avoid wringing or tumble drying.
  • Use a cool iron or steamer on the reverse side to protect the fabric and detailing.
